To anyone who has supported this tour – from donating pennies to housing volunteers to following the tumblr – and for anyone who has been curious and wants to know more, come this Sunday for:

A celebration! of this historic tour that has introduced the leadership of Bob Avakian to thousands of people in the neighborhoods that this sytem has left to rot —the people that can become the backbone of this movement for revolution! Head to basicsbustour.tumblr.com to read the voices from people who hooked up with the tour in New York and beyond.

A send-off! for the volunteers who have spent two weeks making all of this possible! The volunteers have led discussions, organized people, sold copies of BAsics, gotten into debates, held major expressions of culture, and in many various ways connected this revolution with thousands of people. This is our chance to express appreciation for all that they accomplished. It’s your last chance to hear right from them all the stories of what this tour has been like! Check out the new video on the tumblr for a taste of the experience.

A kick-off! While we celebrate and mark the end of this historic tour, this is the chance to look forward and build forward with this movement for revolution. It’s on us, and you, to get connected together and forge something new with thousands more people now learning about and getting into BA and the revolution. Come get connected with plans going forward.

Bring a donation or a dish, paper products or drinks to share. Can you cook food that has been donated? Get in touch.

Come prepared to take materials to distribute in your neighborhood, among your friends.

Can you store materials? Volunteers are needed to store materials to be used in neighborhoods in NYC or shipped to other cities. Come on Sunday prepared to take 1-5 boxes of materials or displays of odd shapes and sizes.

Email ba.everywhereny@yahoo.com or call us 718-664-4164 to tell us what you will bring on Sunday and what you will take with you – and for more information.  Get on www.basicsbustour.tumblr.com to read a new quote from BA. See videos of people responding to the BAsics Bus Tour in NYC.

Let’s go!

BAsics Bus Tour – Amplify the Message From Sanford in Times Square

Get on basicsbustour.tumblr.com to check out the new video message from Sanford, FL!

The people of Sanford have been inspired by and connected with Bob Avakian during the last leg of the tour and now they are looking to the New York tour to continue to boldly take this revolution out. As the woman in the video says, “It’s time for us to stand up. Not just as a color, not just as a race – for all humanity!”

Amplify and project this tomorrow in Times Square as we delivery a revoltuionary message to the world: “American Lives Are Not More Important Than Other People’s Lives” BAsics 5:7; and “Internationalism — The Whole World Comes First.” BAsics 5:8. With music, visuals, creative expression themed on these two quotes. And you and your friends!

Be part of a happening to let the people of the world know about BA and the BAsics by delivering a much needed internationalist and liberating message — at a moment when American chauvinist “USA. # 1” bullshit is in high gear for the Summer Olympics, and at the same time the US government is waging high tech wars, declaring their right to assassinate anyone anywhere around the world. When US imperialism is destroying the ecology of the planet and causing unspeakable deprivation to peoples around the world, when immigrants coming to this country are being demonized as illegal —- we will deliver a message of Internationalism.

Greetings All,

Last night was a moving, celebratory night for BAsics bus tour vounteers who joined supporters for Dominican food and to share reactions to the tour as it develops in NYC. Dozens gathered to hear from the volunteers who’ve been spreading the word about BA and the book BAsics and sharing quotes with people all over the city this week (to learn more, visit: http://www.basicsbustour.tumblr.com/).
To those who came out last night, your experience needs to be amplified — join in with bus tour volunteers this week in key opportunities to stand up and speak out! Spread the word of this to everyone you know by sharing the frequent updates on http://www.basicsbustour.tumblr.com/
To those who couldn’t make it last night, come with friends tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday, too.
Listen here to this interview of “Nicky” from the Bronx to hear what it has meant to her to meet the BAsics Bus Tour in NYC and to start reading BA’s book BAsics.

Watch here to see Carl Dix, Sunsara Taylor, Clyde Young and the BAsics bus tour volunteers with people in Sanford, Florida The video captures the hope people feel when they find out that there could be a radically different and far better future by encountering the vision and works of Bob Avakian, the revolutionary leader who has developed a new synthesis of communism.

“American Lives Are Not More Important Than Other People’s Lives” BAsics 5:7
“Internationalism — The Whole World Comes First.” BAsics 5:8

The BAsics Bus Tour: a multinational, multigenerational crew going deep into some of the most down pressed, locked down, “stop & frisked” hoods in NYC, Philly, and Paterson, NJ aboard two brightly decorated RVs bringing to people the possibility for a radically different world. The volunteers are connecting people with the vision and works of Bob Avakian – especially his book The BAsics - and the movement for revolution he is leading.

The event: a revolutionary happening to deliver a message to the world: “American Lives Are Not More Important Than Other People’s Lives” BAsics 5:7; and “Internationalism — The Whole World Comes First.” BAsics 5:8. With music, visuals, creative expression themed on these two quotes. And you and your friends!

Bob Avakian is a visionary communist thinker and revolutionary leader. He is the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA.

To those who are seething with outrage at the horrors of this system
To those who dare to imagine a radically different society
To those who have questions about revolution and want to know more
To those who can’t wait another day for the world to change
To those who are inspired by a core of revolutionary fighters
To those who dream and yearn for a better world

YOU’RE INVITED!

Dinner with the BAsics Bus Tour Volunteers
Tuesday, July 24, 7 p.m.
Revolution Books – 146 W. 26th Street (Between 6th & 7th Ave)
One night that is part of changing the whole world. One night to take a step into the future.
What happens when a group of people who are all different ages and nationalities with all different backgrounds takes the work and leadership of Bob Avakian and his vision of revolution and a communist world into the neighborhoods of New York City and surrounding areas that have been abandoned and left to rot by this system? This is your chance to find out! You don’t want to miss this.
Check out what Annie Day describes about hearing stories from the volunteers:
“A collective enthusiasm filled the room, different people finishing each other’s sentences or telling similar stories from different angles, a camaraderie with people checking in on each other, getting each other food and sodas… a stranger would’ve had no idea this crew had, just a few days earlier, been strangers to one another. The first person who spoke – a veteran of the last BAsics Bus tour – started by saying that he should maybe let someone else start, but he’s just so eager. That spoke to a common characteristic of all the volunteers – eager. ” Read more of her post at www.basicsbustour.tumblr.com
There will be a sliding scale to attend: Bring anything from a box of cereal to energy bars to bottles of water to help meet the needs of the volunteers OR donate $5, $25, $50, $100 or $250. Being planned: a silent auction, culture, art and music.
This is a unique opportunity to meet, dine and talk with a core of fighters who have dedicated two weeks of their lives to bringing a whole different world into being. Hear the stories of something really new that is being forged as this tour brings forward and helps to transform the people that will be at the backbone of this revolution. Learn about the hope, joy and debate that gets stirred up when people hear about this leader and the movement they can be part of. Raise the funds that are desperately needed to cover the costs of this tour.
If you lay awake at night with anger at the way things are, and you dream about a far better world – this will be your chance to be part of a truly historic moment on the road to emancipating all of humanity.
Spread this invitation to everyone you know and stay tuned for updates and details.

Friday, July 27: Come to the courthouse to support Noche, a young revolutionary who has been singled out for his work with the movement to STOP Stop & Frisk and was outrageously ordered to trial this week.

Sunday 7/22 - Hook up with the Basics Bus Tour in Paterson, NJ:
If you support this tour, are interested in meeting the volunteers, or just plain curious about this experience, join a group going out on the tour in Paterson. Meet at 11 A.M. at the Burger King on 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Ave in Manhattan, and travel with a group going to Paterson. This is a very unique place with a lot of Black, Latino and Arab people and the crew will be going out to all different areas there. Stay as long as you can -  return to NYC before dinner time or stay later. (You can take the NJ Transit train or a jitney to NYC).  It’s the Muslim holiday of Ramadan and, after dark, the streets will fill up with people breaking fast. Please let us know if you will be going out with the tour, 718-664-4164

Tuesday 7/24 – Fundraising Dinner with the BAsics Bus Tour Volunteers!
This is a unique opportunity to meet, dine and talk with a core of fighters who have dedicated two weeks of their lives to bringing a whole different world into being. This bus tour is really a game changer, and you don’t want to miss your chance to be part of this historic event. There is a sliding scale for the dinner - bring anything from a box of cereal to energy bars to bottles of water to help meet the needs of the volunteers OR donate $5, $25, $50, $100 or $250. Being planned: a silent auction, culture, art and music. Location and details TBA – stay tuned to www.basiscsbustour.tumblr.com for updates.  If you can help plan the dinner,  call  718-664-4164.

Friday 7/27 - Pack the courtroom and support Noche:
Noche is a young revolutionary who has been a key leader in organizing the movement to STOP Stop & Frisk. On Wednesday, he attended what was expected to be a routine hearing in the Bronx and outrageously was ordered to trial just over a week later on Friday, July 27. He was arrested for observing a police assault that he happened on up in the Bronx, along with dozens of others. He is a revolutionary fighter who has taken up the work and leadership of Bob Avakian, and he is being singled out and gone after. This cannot stand! We need to pack the courtroom full of people who are outraged by this and will come in solidarity with Noche and this movement for revolution. Watch www.basicsbustour.tumblr.com for more news.

The BAsics Bus Tour is on the ground in NYC! Two buses, with over 2 dozen volunteers, are in the Bronx and Brooklyn as you read this, already meeting and getting with many people about the revolutionary leadership of Bob Avakian – lifting sights to a different and liberating world and the many ways thousands can be involved in this movement for revolution starting now.

Going deep into the ground zero neighborhoods of the NYPD’s ugly stop and frisk assault on hundreds of thousands of youth, thevolunteers were hosted on one of their first nights here for dinner by families of victims of police murder. They describe an evening none will forget, with heartfelt pain and humor, wonderful food and deep exchange about what people face under this system and how to get out of it. (See http://www.basicsbustour.tumblr.com/ and http://www.revcom.us/)

For the next 10 days, the BAsics bus tour travels through the Bronx, Brooklyn and nearby cities, reaching out to and involving thousands and changing people’s ideas of the possiblity of real change – making a movement for revolution real.
