On June 5th, 100 days after the modern American lynching of Trayvon Martin, Harlem youth and others declare “We Are All Trayvon Martin” and respond to the message of BAsics 1:13. They added their names and messages to a poster bearing this quote:

“No more generations of our youth, here and all around the world, whose life is over, whose fate has been sealed, who have been condemned to an early death or a life of misery and brutality, whom the system has destined for oppression and oblivion even before they are born. I say no more of that.”
— Bob Avakian, BAsics 1:13

We Say "NO MORE" printed in Florida Star

We Say “NO MORE” statement was published in the Jacksonville Florida Star on Thursday, May 24th.  Click this link and go to page A3 of the e-edition.

Signed by Don Cheadle, Noam Chomsky, Cornel West, Tavis Smiley, Carl Dix, and others. This is a statement that the killing of Trayvon Martin and the 2.4 million in prison make clear that there is a whole generation of Black and Latino youth marked and treated as a “generation of suspects” to be murdered and jailed. This is not an issue for Black people alone but for all who care about justice; it is not a random tragedy. We say NO MORE!

Share this Statement with everyone you know, say “no more!” and mean it, and spread the message widely!

FRIDAY: Speakout at Sanford Police Station — “WE SAY NO MORE”

ANNOUNCING 4pm, Friday speakout at the Sanford police station where Carl Dix and the BAsics Bus Tour will bring the “WE SAY NO MORE” banner, signed by hundreds throughout the region.

Carl Dix said, “We are in Sanford to draw a line, and are going to denounce any attempts to let Zimmerman walk. We will be doing this at a crucial time, when the message coming at people from all sides is ‘It’s time to get out of the streets and let the legal system work!’ The system was working when it let Trayvon’s killer walk the night of his murder. And it’s working now as stories turn up in the news portraying Zimmerman as the victim and dragging Trayvon’s reputation through the mud. We’ve seen over and over again cops and wanna be cops get off scot free for the murder of Black youth, and we are not going to let the system sweep this under the rug this time; we are saying no more. Now is a time to remain in the streets to have any chance to get justice for Trayvon and I call on everyone to join us and be part of delivering this message.”

“No more generations of our youth, here and all around the world, whose life is over, whose fate has been sealed, who have been condemned to an early death or a life of misery and brutality, whom the system has destined for oppression and oblivion even before they are born. I say no more of that.”

The BAsics Bus Tour: Next Stop -- Atlanta and Beyond

From the article…

The BAsics Bus Tour is getting ready to hit the road in the South. Next week volunteers from Los Angeles to New York will stream into Atlanta. They will be traveling there on the money donated for this tour all across the country. Some will be taking greetings that were created and signed in the communities they’re coming in from. They’ll be representing something much bigger than themselves. As one volunteer put it: “This is a great opportunity to expand and widen the movement for revolution, as well as to let many more people know about BA and the revolution…the fact that this vision was brought to them and that they know that there are people who really WANT TO DEDICATE THEIR LIVES to change the world, that already makes a difference in the political atmosphere of the country.”

This crew will bring word of Bob Avakian and the new synthesis of communism he’s brought forward, the strategy for revolution he’s developed, the leadership that he’s providing to the movement for revolution. The focal point of this tour is BAsics, from the talks and writings of Bob Avakian—a book of quotations and short essays that concentrates over 30 years of BA’s work on everything that stands between humanity and its emancipation. This work can introduce people to “the basics” of understanding and changing the world and give them the foundation from which to act on the world and learn more. The tour will be getting out hundreds of copies of BAsics itself, and tens of thousands of palm cards and posters drawing from this work, letting people know about it and getting into all kinds of discussions off of it.
